Cette année, les auteurs nominés pour les Locus sont sensiblement les mêmes que pour les Hugos: Cherie Priest, Robert Charles Wilson, China Miéville, Paolo Bacigalupi. Mais c'est Kage Baker qui est mise à l'honneur en étant nominée dans le meilleur roman SF, le meilleur roman jeunesse et la meilleure novella. Nancy Kress, Ian McDonald et Charles Stross sont nominés eux aussi dans deux catégories.
